My Professor: A Nora Heat Novella Kindle Edition

3.8 out of 5 stars 394 ratings

Ever since Zara Porter and Cole Grant bumped into one another at their local coffee shop, they haven’t stopped thinking about each other.

Zara is quiet, shy, and a bit of a klutz, while Cole is laid back, charming, and wickedly handsome. Every time they cross paths, he wants her more than before, and she wants the same. And the truth is, they could be together if it weren’t for one teensy, little problem—he’s her college English professor.

Fraternization with a student is against the rules and strictly prohibited on campus. However, when it comes to Zara, Cole might be willing to break the rules to fulfill both of their desires.

Being together could be everything they’ve ever dreamed of . . . so long as they don’t get caught.

Was expecting romance but got erotica instead
Before actually reading MY PROFESSOR, by Shanora Williams, I was expecting romance but got erotica instead. Zara Porter slams into Mr. Grant entering a coffee shop, while he’s exiting. It’s attraction at first sight. It doesn’t take Zara, an awkward college freshman, long to find out Mr. Cole Grant is actually Professor Grant, her English professor. They can’t stop thinking about each other. A story of a forbidden relationship between a professor and a student and where the age gap is pretty significant isn’t new. Without giving too much away, I would have liked seeing more to the story, such as how and why Zara would pop the cherry with Cole, when she’s remained a virgin for some reason. Developing that would have been helpful. Hearing more about how or why Cole was willing to risk a hard-earned career for temporary relations with a student, when he’s been with other people would make the story more interesting. Personally, the steamy intimate scenes are abundant but lacking in the romantic relations part.

My Professor is an age gap/teacher-student romance novella that is perfect to read in a day.
It's a little steamy and definitely forbidden, but I could've gone for way more steam. I mean, if you're going to go for some forbidden, go all the way! ;)

Right from the beginning, I knew where our story of Professor Grant and Zara was going to go. She's the clumsy, college virgin, but the Professor had all the right stuff. Sexy, witty, well read and obviously smart. While it was pretty predictable, I still enjoyed the story. It was a quick read and low on any angst, with a bit of drama to add to their relationship. I wouldn't expect anything less. The Professor acted a bit younger than his mid 30's and I would've liked more from him. Zara seemed like the typical virgin college student. Since this was a novella, there wasn't a lot of development from the characters, but this was a story all about forbidden and what would happen over the course of the couple weeks they had together.
Overall, this story was ok and something to cleanse your palate in between reads.

Hot and relatively quick processor and student novella. It starts with some spilled tea and some stolen kisses, but turns into more that Cole and Zara expected. It’s cute, quick, and has some spice so definitely recommend if that’s what you’re in the mood for!

Very good read. And what a way to start my Christmas vacation. This was my first time reading this author. The story was engaging and well developed for a novella. Nothing was lacking or missing. Just perfect Ms. Williams. I adore any story that is catered around books and with a dash of love. Set on a campus and throw in a coffee shop and its my perfect read. Cole and Zara were great together. The pace was good. Drama was good. Everything was just perfect. I really enjoyed the story and it was a lovely way to spend my morning. Thank you.

It was okay but not the kind of ending I was hoping for. But then again not the kind of story I was hoping for. He was kind of a weak H. He did no real fighting for Zara. I honestly didn’t feel any love between the H and h.

Zara is the epitome of the good girl whose innocence is what gets the hot Professors attention. I felt this is what a real life teacher/student affair would be like. I did think it would be spicier though, still plenty good.

I'm quite disappointed with this novella. The spicy scenes were poorly written, the plot execution was terrible, and the characters made no sense.

The ending was rushed and not satisfying at all.

I don't think I'll be reading any of the other novellas by this author anytime soon.

Enjoyable but a little predictable. The ending though is not what I expected. Easy and quick to read. Well written and flows well. Hot passionate scenes, mistrust and relationship issues, with a smattering of slimy gossipy character that lead to consequences.
